Police Control Bill Signing
03/24/25 - Saint Louis Police Officers Association Members, Governor Mike Kehoe will be at the SLPOA Hall on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 10am to sign HB495 returning control of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department to a Governor-appointed board of police commissioners. Also scheduled to be in attendance is Senator Nick Schroer, Senator Travis Fitzwater and the bill’s sponsor, Representative Brad Christ. |

NCAA College Basketball Bracket Challenge
03/14/25 - Saint Louis Police Officers Association ***REMINDER*** ***REMINDER*** ***REMINDER*** The deadline to join the SLPOA Bracket Challenge is Thursday March 20th at 12:15pm. SLPOA is hosting an NCAA college basketball bracket challenge. There is a $20 entry fee that will be used to raise money for our Member Relief, Community Outreach and Donation Fund and for prizes for the winning bracket. Any member can join the challenge by following the link below. Brackets will not be available until next week, but sign-up is available now. |

03/12/25 - Saint Louis Police Officers Association Members, Today the Missouri Legislature passed HB495 returning the SLMPD to a Governor appointed Board of Police Commissioners. We anticipate the Governor will sign the bill into law in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more details. |

Social Security Fairness Act Q&A & Update

The Social Security Fairness Act represents a significant step forward in addressing long-standing inequities in the Social Security system. This legislation repeals two unfair provisions in the Social Security Code, the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO), which have disproportionately impacted public safety officers and other government employees. |

Ferguson Police Officer Seriously Injured
08/10/24 - Saint Louis Police Officers Association Officer Travis Brown of the Ferguson Police Department (former St. Louis County Police Officer) was assaulted last night at a protest in Ferguson. Officer Brown has not woken up since the assault and had brain surgery last night. Unfortunately the assault had not been reported by the press. |
